Where did time go?

It has been a long and dreary winter here.  I feel like I am just emerging out of a cloudy existence although I have been very  busy taking care of the day to day responsibilities.  Today we have the dining room door open letting the fresh air in.  It is a little cool outside but the sun is shining and that is a nice thing.  Joseph has rototilled the garden and has pruned and sprayed the fruit trees, grapevines and raspberries.  We went to a gardening class on Tuesday and the instructor was saying how she already has her starts going and the early crops planted.  I just blinked and thought "Is it April already? Where have I been?"
We have been terrible at taking pictures so I'll share what few we have.
For the winter we moved the chicken coop close to the house to help get them out of the wind.  They don't like walking on the snow so Joseph made paths for them. They were good layers, all winter we got 3-4 eggs on average and a few times only 2. We would try to let them out for a little bit each day. I would sit under the eaves where the sun could warm me and knit while I watched them. I have been trying to get a blanket knitted for Molly.  It is almost finished.
If you look closely you'll see a woodpecker in the tree. We had two coming to the birdfeeder this winter.  We didn't have a lot of deep snow this winter, but we have had a lot of storms. We bought a new snow blower in December and I think we only had to use it a couple of times.  Our old snow blower was probably about 30 years old and Joseph decided he was done repairing it.  We gave it to our neighbor to use for parts as he is a tinkerer.

Here is Sammy sitting on Joseph's scripture case.  Her favorite spot is always on something you don't want her on.
This is a picture from last fall. Our stake did a service day in October. We went and helped do yard work for an older couple, Dean and Virgie Maughan. He had cancer and about six weeks later he passed away.  He was one of the most kind and caring persons that I have ever met. He was a WWII veteran having served in the Navy. Both him and his wife have been great examples to Joseph and I.
I have had fun this winter making doll clothes for Christine's baby doll.  It takes as much work to make doll clothes as it does regular clothes, but this has been a fun outlet for me.  I also made two other dresses along with a Cinderella dress for her baby doll.  I was so excited to send that particular package that I forgot to take pictures of them.  I am also making Barbie doll patterns and then making clothes that I hope to donate next Christmas to the Christmas box house.

This is a picture of our newest granddaughter, Mollie Mae who was born in October.
For Christmas Keith picked out a puzzle for us to work on, as this has ben a tradition of ours for those long, cold winter nights.  This was a 2000 piece puzzle?!?!? In the beginning I thought this was going to be impossible to do because of all the purples.  It took us until March to finish. It seemed such a shame to put it back in the box.
Joseph had these pictures on his phone, so we are a little late in posting these as well. This is the grandsons looking at the mirror over the baptismal font before Zachary's baptism.  I thought it was so sweet.
We also went to their ward Christmas party while we were in Missouri.  The primary children enacted the Nativity story along with singing.  Here is Trevor as one of the angels.
Brian was one of the Shepherds.
The Saturday before Valentines our Stake always has a dance for the adults. They use to do a dinner as well but then  our stake got too big. This has been our tradition to dress up including flowers.
They took pictures this year with a green screen and then added the background.
For our traditional valentines dinner we invited Ashley and Tyler over.  Keith was here with us also. We had our traditional homemade Chicken cordon bleu, roasted asparagus, baked potatoes, broccoli salad and apple juice with sprite, along with our famous meringue cherry dessert.  I have been making this dessert for about 20 years now.  I thought it a shame not to wear my corsage from the dance so I put it on my sweatshirt.  I should of dressed up but the dinner preparation took all my time.  Life continues on and I just try to keep up.
